The Art of Arguile
One of the
oldest traditions in the Middle East is the art of
Arguile smoking. The origin of Arguile comes from the
northwestern provinces of India, which were part of
Persia nearly 1,000 years ago.
Narguile is
the name most commonly used in Cyprus, Jordan, Greece,
Armenia, Bulgaria and Romania, though the initial ‘n’ is
often dropped in Lebanon to become plain Arguile.
Other names
that are commonly used depending on the locality are
Hookah, Nargeela, Nargile, Water pipe, Gewat Suckre,
okka, Kalyan, Shisha and Hubbly-Bubbly.
With a vast
collection of tobacco and non-tobacco flavours to choose
from, and many other variables to manipulate; Arguile
smoking is truly a trend today in coffee houses amongst
friends and family that would congregate for hours
smoking, chatting and sipping tea.
At
Layali Cafe,
the trend of Arguile smoking is an art that has been
perfected through the years. We invite you to join us on
this journey and share our experience by relaxing and
enjoying the vibe.
